Being a CEO and having a big team requires transparency and truthfulness. Sometimes hearing the truth can be rather hard, but when it’s part of the culture with the intention of developing and helping your team improve it has to have a positive impact. All parties whether its managers, CEO’s or any other team member, everyone can benefit from this process. Julius and Mets chat about how you can’t be everything to everyone and you have to say no to people that are going to suck the energy out of you. This is where radical transparency and truthfulness is hugely important for success. [2.00] Mets discusses his sit downs with his team and the reason he doesn’t sugar coat things and how he approaches meetings. [3.40] Mets and Julius discuss today's staff meeting and why Mets advises his team to have a look at those they surround themselves with. [5.50] Mets says when you own a gym or work in a gym everyone wants to be your friend and you have to distinguish between being a friend and being a mentor or leader. [7.17] Julius and Mets chat about how some of the serious conversations they’ve had have impacted Julius and how they’ve led Julius to step up his game while not becoming complacent. [9.00] “Sometimes you need to be an asshole even if you don’t want to be. A culture cannot improve unless you work on it” Serious conversations are had to improve relationships and the transparency has to be two ways. [11.25] “Last year was good, but that's not good enough for us to grow anymore” Subscribe to the TMAM Podcast on iTunes & Sound Cloud You can find Mets on the following platforms: Instagram: @titanmets and @titanfitness_au Facebook: LinkedIn:
