Alors que les fêtes de fin d’année approchent, la question des marchands ambulants refait surface. Un comité interministériel s’était réuni fin octobre pour examiner ce dossier sensible, qui suscite une fois de plus la frustration des commerçants établis. Hier, les marchands ambulants se sont à leur tour rencontrés pour tenter de trouver des solutions à leurs difficultés. Leur porte-parole, Salim Muthy, appelle les autorités à leur permettre de travailler, non seulement à Port-Louis, mais aussi à travers l’île, tout en respectant les règles et les procédures. Il rappelle que pour beaucoup d’entre eux, c’est leur seul gagne-pain, surtout en cette période festive.
