What’s the best way to prep your home for sale? This is a question we get asked all the time. To answer it, we focus on four things in particular that will save you a lot of time, money, and frustration: 1. Curb appeal: What’s the first the first thing you want buyers to see when they drive up to the house? Is the lawn green? Is the grass trimmed? Do you have some nice, colorful flowers planted? 2. Decluttering: Buyers don’t want to see your personal items. You want to make your house look as big and spacious as possible. Specifically, your countertops must be clear, clean, and shiny. 3. Repainting: Be careful with the tones that you select. What may be a beautiful or appropriate color to you may not be to someone else. You want buyers to be able to walk inside your house and see their own furniture and decor. We suggest you use earth tones. 4. Pets, smoke, and smells: You may have grown accustomed to all the odors in your house, but it’s very important that you understand that a buyer is coming in with a fresh nose. “You want buyers to be able to walk inside your house and see their own furniture and decor.” These tasks will net you a generous return of both time and money. If you like, we can provide you with a free room-by-room analysis to help you with your home sale preparation. Our goal is to help you generate multiple offers on your home and sell it for as much money as possible. A special thanks to Jamie for providing the question for this week’s topic. For her contribution, she will receive a $25 Starbucks gift card. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to give us a call or send us an email. If we select your question for a future video, you will also receive a $25 Starbucks gift card. We look forward to hearing from you!
