We felt we needed to take the temperature and feel the pulse of the USA as it runs down to election day next Tuesday, so firstly Bridgett Leslie spoke again to American anti-racism educator, 87 year-old Jane Elliott who didn’t mince words when Bridget asked about the role of race in the election. And Graeme Kemlo spoke with our New York correspondent, Phil Brown, an Aussie expat to get his take on the Big Apple’s reaction to the election. As someone who cannot vote his comments were interesting. Phil then went to [photograph nearby lines of voters, explaining: "The line started snaking up and down in a park which took about an hour to clear, and then went for another 4 blocks which took about another hour and a half according to some punters I spoke to on the way out."
