The balloons in Killing Eve still have Kendra floating on air
Manage episode 226688232 series 2136986
This week Ken and Kendra talk British shows with the series Killing Eve, a quick plug for Sex Education on Netflix, and an even quicker love note for Big Dreams, Small Spaces, a British garden show with host Monty Don. Before we get into all that, Ken and Kendra dive into their dreams and goals for Zac Efron’s career. We want him to only play people in high school or college. Once he gets too old to play a college student we will allow him to do the Rodney Dangerfield back to school thing. This is just a lot saying we don’t want to see “Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile”.
In our conversations about Killing Eve (BBC America, Hulu) we discuss the performances of Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer, while also discussing our general reverence for Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Kendra’s favorite part of the whole show Villanelle’s apartment and her absolutely perfect taste in balloons. That doesn’t mean Kendra didn’t like the show it means Kendra truly LOVED the fancy spherical balloons.
Next up, Kendra recommends the crowd and Ken watch Sex Education (Netflix). Ken says he will but can’t be trusted. And in conclusion we discuss a recommendation from current Britain resident, Carrie. She told Kendra about the show Big Dreams, Small Spaces (Netflix) which is in keeping with the theory that titling shows isn’t for everyone. It features the apparently super famous Monty Don who helps people make beautiful gardens in their small yards. Everyone is in love with him and the whole thing is both charming and like watching an archeological study on fame.
Despite mentioning that we connect a show with Peri Gilpin every episode we forgot to find two degrees of connection this episode, but we have them. Sandra Oh from Killing Eve was in the movie Sideways with Virginia Madsen. Virginia Madsen was in an episode of Frasier titled “When a Man Loves Two Women” in which Frasier loves two women. To this Ken and Kendra both say, “ugh and gross.”
