Victories abound for both Notre Dame and USC this past weekend. The Fighting Irish came away with a hard fought victory over the Pitt Panthers, and the Trojans held on to defeat the Colorado Buffaloes. Notre Dame quarterback Ian Book had to recover from a shaky first half to lead Notre Dame to a come from behind victory. The offense struggled early, but like always the Irish defense was stout. The friendly confines on the Coliseum did the trick for the hot and cold USC Trojans. Freshman quarterback JT Daniels struggled early, and the Trojans continued to rack up dumb penalties. In the end USC had enough firepower to defeat the higher ranked Buffaloes.
