Today we’re doing something a bit different.

Usually, we release articles in this spot, podcast interviews I’ve done, or a guest post from some of our value investing colleagues.

Today though, we’re releasing a video of a recent Live we did on both Facebook and YouTube where I did a live stock analysis of Oatly Group (OTLY) for Critical Thinking who requested this on another Live we did.

This originally aired on September 16th on both the Value Investing Journey Facebook page and YouTube channel.

But we’re reposting it today on the blog and as a podcast for those who missed it.

In this 1 hour and 40 minute discussion, Charlene and I evaluate Oatly fully.

Some of the topics we covered are…

What is a stock ticker?

Why I purposely DO NOT look at what a stock does at this early stage of analysis before I analyze the stock.

What my general thoughts are when it comes to investing in plant-based stocks

The massive difference between large corporate farms and individual farmers or ranchers.

Why you should read the book Salt, Sugar, Fat, if you’re interested in agriculture, the food supply, or anything related to food history in the U.S.

And why this combination of the U.S. government has generally been a terrible thing for obesity and diabetes.

Why a slice of pizza is healthier for you than most processed foods.

What are my tips to look at to find great stocks faster?

What is an ADR?

How to spot major red flags when analyzing stocks.

Why you should view owning any stock as owning part of the entire company… Not owning just a piece of paper.

Why I almost never invest in growth stocks.

Why share dilution is such a bad problem for stocks.

Why I don’t invest in IPO’s.

How to spot when companies aren’t controlling their costs when they’re growing…

And why this is so bad.

How to figure out if a company has a strong balance sheet or not quickly.

What the cash conversion cycle (CCC) is… And why it’s so important for companies that produce hard assets.

How to spot potential issues with misaligned incentives when evaluating stocks.

Why valuation is SOOOOO important. Always.

Why healthy food is more expensive.

Why GMO’s and genetically modified foods are here to stay and will only accelerate.

Why you should join our Value Investing Masterclass.

An overview of up to $9,000 in bonuses you can get by joining our Value Investing Masterclass.

How I lost 50% of my investment portfolio within 6 months of investing real world money… And how you can avoid this by investing in the Value Investing Masterclass.

And more.

To listen to the full 1 hour and 40-minute long discussion click here.

And I’d love to hear your thoughts on anything in the discussion as well.

Did we miss anything? Should we have explained things better?

Let me know about these things or anything in the comments below.

Always in your service,

Jason
