With Mike Bletcher back in-studio as a co-host with Bob, this great show included five additional telephone guests.

It has been 14 weeks since Mike Bletcher underwent the Gastric Sleeve procedure. He is the first guest to undergo the surgery as a proactive measure. Mike does not have Diabetes, but his weight was out of control. 14 weeks later — no concerns, no complications, no issues — but a weight loss of 74 pounds.

Damon McCune, MS, RDN, LD, Director of Didactic Program in Nutrition and Dietetics University of Nevada Las Vegas, contributed his expertise on nutrition throughout the first half of the show.

Jenny Stiles, who has been a regular guest spoke about her daily challenges as a kidney recipient. She is currently waiting for another kidney for a number of years. Work has already begun on the 2017 Kidney Foundation Walk which will be held in the fall.

Dr. Tropea and Dr. Larry Rubin gave the “Diabetes Straight Talk”, warning the listeners to fully understand the medical consequences of their Diabetes neglect. Those in denial are self-destructing. Their mission is to have each listener obtain a health risk assessment, and then follow a wellness plan.

Karen Whisenhunt gave a brief summary report of the 2017 Las Vegas Rotary Club Car Show. This major community fundraising event had been promoted over the past three months on the show.
