Welcome to the ninth episode of Veni Vidi VC !
This is an exclusive show where we cover the journey of the most interesting personalities of the Venture Capital world.
SHOWNOTES
This week, we host Nima Elyassi-Rad, currently Investor at Indie.vc, a program set-up by O'Reilly Alpha Tech Ventures (OATV). Indie.VC is built for finding, organizing and working with founders who want to build large, scalable businesses on their own terms. They have even shared their term sheets here at http://bryce.vc/post/120533439475/indievc-termsheets-on-github for the savvy startups who want to understand their non-traditional investing methods.
In a candid and delightful conversation, Nima shares the story of building a scalable startup with unit economics. Nima's journey began from dabbling in finance in his early days of career, to going to business school and becoming a sales fanatic, launching Groupon's largest sales campaign, leading business development at Shippo, and eventually led him way to the world of Venture Capital through Canvas Ventures to OATV (parent of Indie.vc program).
FUN FACT: Nima loves drinking milk tea in traditional Persian style.
Nima likes spending his time learning from the following resources:
- Bryce.VC by OATV co-founder Bryce Robert
- Ben Narasin - GP at Canvas Ventures
- Bijan Sabet's Medium - VC at Spark Capital
- Both Sides of the Table by Mark Suster
