Holy Shit, Vent City episode nine is here just one day before Mark Suciu drops his long-awaited Verso part. But we don't get into that here. We are doing a Pushing Boarders recap ep to bookend all our PB coverage. Lots of things are talked about—why folks were at the conference, what they talked about and each panelist (co-host?) shares their highlights. Ted S thinks we should maybe do away with describing skateboard movements in non-skate outlets. It seems like he's coming down on one particular instance, but he's just shortsighted and has seen this come up many time in the past from news outlets. He really really does like the Tyshawn piece—it's very very good—even though he gripes about the kickflip front board description. Kristin pyres the practice of excluding non-male skters from leadership positions and decision making processes in the industry. Also maybe stop asking non-traditional skaters for their opinion if you're just going to ignore it or use it as free consulting. Kyle chooses some actual kindling for the funeral pyre and hope we can light the fucking Mega Ramp on fire for fucking good before it kills someone. Also, if you don't pop your tail, you might be missing something essential to this thing we loosely define as skateboarding. Ted Barrow is ready to burn down this whole thing where folks say "...... is ruining skateboarding." Most things other skaters are doing for fun on their skateboards don't really affect your skateboarding, even if the other Ted is fighting about it on Twitter. Ryan Lay says "bye bye" to elaborate camera gear that turns the session into a car commercial. The higher the production gear budget, the further you get from an organic session. Music by Ilana Bryne (@ilana.bryne, naivetrax.bandcamp.com) Graphic Design by Michael Worful (@worful) That's it. We love you. Big time.
