168: Business on Purpose with Scott Beebe On today’s episode, Joe Crane talks about Business on Purpose with Scott Beebe. Scott is the Founder of Business on Purpose, a company that helps small business owners and organizational leaders to uncover what they cannot see in specific aspects in their business. Tune in to hear about his story, and learn how you too can advance with a purpose!
“Vision makes people run towards you or run away from you.” -Scott Beebe Experiences as Business Employee Scott spent many years in the corporate world. He worked in sales while in college. But since he wanted to learn theology, he ended up graduating from a seminary.
He experienced working in a church for awhile. But, he dedicated more years working for a big pharmaceutical company. That’s where he was able to lead an NGO in Nigeria. Transition into Entrepreneurship After years of work for the company, however, Scott lost his job. One of 9 board members went rogue. Since they did not like the hostile takeover, the 8 other board members resigned on the spot.
As a consequence, Scott’s role had to be dissolved as well. That ended his career in the corporate world. So, he flew back home and became an entrepreneur.
“To some people, that cross faith into entrepreneurialism is a great transition.” -Scott Beebe
Scott was uncertain if he’d have to courage to take the leap. According to him, people just need to be pushed in sometimes. A Special Gift to Share He remembers the time he realized his gift. He has the special ability to see things which others cannot, just as his friend told him. However, it’s challenging to use such gift particularly when you are working for somebody else.
That limits the things you can do. For this, he shares the significance of having boundaries and freedom. There are risks involved.
