Chief Executive Officer of The South African Weather Service Ishaam Abader has called for advanced early warning systems in order to prepare communities against weather disasters
In recent years, much of the country has experienced severe storm damage emanating from floods, tornadoes and heatwaves.
Abader was at the national consultative workshop - Early Warnings for All - in Pretoria earlier this week
The three-day event, aimed to assess the current state of early warning systems in South Africa, as part of the UN-backed EW4All initiative to protect all from hazardous weather events by 2027.
