In episode 43 of Web3 Warriors, Krome dissects some of the trends around Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) and how they may impact the web3 and blockchain space. The main concern is that these new digital currencies can have serious dystopian privacy and caste system implications. Taking a look at the "best-case" and "worst-case" scenarios as governments around the world grapple with how to innovate to keep up with the digitization of finance. It seems digital currency will be a reality eventually, so the question becomes how these currencies are launched and what kind of guardrails are put in place for privacy and social concerns.
