Title: The racing silks of good and evil
Text: Rev. 6&7
Chapters 6 and 7 of the Revelation grapple with good and evil. A subject for which we all desire direction. How can God be good and allow world or personal tragedy?
To comprehend Revelation's answer we need its previous chapters where we meet the victorious Christ (Rev. 1), link him to the church's everyday existence, (Rev. 2-3), and participate in victorious worship (Rev. 4-5).
The direction this drives us to is this:
- there is evil in the world.
- It is real.
- It is powerful.
- It is pervasive.
- It is not a figment of our imagination.
- Nor is it caused by God.
- Yet, it is limited and Christ is more, Christ and his church will prevail against it.
