It is remarkable how we as Christians will talk about almost anything, except the Bible. We will listen to the pastor (most of the time), we will listen to teachers at Bible study, we will listen to Christian TV, but we won’t listen to each other. I have rarely ever come across two or three people just talking about the Bible, especially not in church. This must change. What Is It? Ministry is dedicated to always asking the question, what is it?. An ancient and systematic method of approaching God’s word allows us to ask this question at least once a week. It was designed to keep the entire nation of Israel on the same page and allowed people to talk with each other pertaining to scripture. They did not have to be a rabbi, a pastor, or a theologian to engage the scripture. All they had to do was talk to each other and find out what the passage meant to their neighbor and then say what it meant to them. A process of discovery was born, designed to keep us in His way.
