Recorded February 17, 2017. Turn on NPR or other corporate media, and you're likely to hear Russia and/or Putin mentioned hundreds of times in a matter of hours. Dr K counted!

But how much did we hear about Gen. John Nicholson's statement to the Senate Armed Services Committee that after 15 years at war we're at a "stalemate" in Afghanistan? We discuss the general's underreported request for thousands more troops and billions in additional spending in the context of the propaganda campaign against Tulsi Gabbard's trip to Syria in search of a peaceful solution to our perpetual wars. Bernie believes health care is a right and that we need to pool our resources to provide care for our fellow Americans. So you say you want to change things from the ground up? Two members of Chicago's near west suburb Bellwood's School District 88 from share their insights on how and why they're campaigning as school board candidates: to prevent corruption and influence-peddling. Our guests inspired us with their passionate stories of why they want to change the culture to provide their children -- and ALL children -- with the education they deserve.

We provide a passing mention of Prez Trump in the context of why we should support organizations that are taking legal action against his administration. 'Nuff said.

As Bernie keeps reminding us, stay above the fray--focus on what really matters and get involved today!
