When it feels like there is never-ending darkness, how do you remind yourself that there will always come light? In this episode of the Why Am I So Effing Stressed??!! Podcast, Annemarie Bell talks about the process of dealing with difficult situations that feel like they will bring you to your breaking point. Acute and episodic stress alike, there are ways we have to grapple with, reflect on, manage, and dismantle the power it has over us. Annemarie does not have the answers that will solve your problems, but she provides actions to implement and changes to help you to get back into the driver's seat of your life. We hear how it is time for a reality check, time to rewire our relationship with fear, and time to come off of our autopilot mode. We are not defeated, just wounded: and wounds always heal.

Key Points From This Episode:

  • How the nighttime can feel more overwhelming when you are dealing with something hard.
  • Negative and difficult thoughts Annemarie had.
  • Why people struggle to reach out when they feel overwhelmed.

  • Managing your feelings and emotions to lessen them and change them with time.
  • Why you should be taking control of your actions and thoughts.
  • How to structure columns of what you can and cannot control.
  • Giving your catastrophic thoughts a reality check.
  • The power of writing down what you are feeling and reflecting on it by asking why.
