Join Chuck Abadie as he welcomes Emily Sheckells, the First-Year Experience Orientation Coordinator at Pearl River Community College. In this episode, Emily shares vital information for incoming students as they prepare for the upcoming fall semester.
They covered the details of the Wildcat Welcome events scheduled for July 23rd on the Forrest County Campus and July 25th on the Poplarville Campus. New students can connect with campus resources and complete essential tasks, such as getting their student IDs. Additionally, they will have the chance to enter a drawing for a full tuition scholarship.
Emily explains the importance of the ROAR program, which is designed to ensure students are ready, oriented, advised, and registered for their classes.
Additionally, she discusses the supportive measures in place to help students transition into college life, including time management workshops and a First-Year Seminar course that serves as a graduation requirement.
With the new Hancock County Campus set to open, even more opportunities exist for students to thrive at PRCC.
