In this week's episode, you will get to know us better! We talk about how we both got into the wine industry and share our stories about how we left our secure jobs to pursue our passion for wine. Antonia speaks about her travels exporting wine from Ireland to Jerez in Spain to China for over a decade. Lynda talks about leaving a secure job in accountancy to start her professional wine studies. But, working in the wine business isn’t always as glamourous as it sounds.

Whether you are interested in wine as a hobby or professionally, we share some tips on how you can continue to build your knowledge and pursue your interest in wine appreciation. We give some suggestions, for example, starting your own wine club, attending wine tastings, and meeting like-minded people.

We are both qualified wine experts holding the WSET level 4 certification. WSET is a body that provides globally recognised education and qualifications in wines, spirits, and sake, for professionals and wine enthusiasts. Antonia is currently in phase two of the prestigious Master of Wine programme. Lynda won a trophy for achieving the highest marks in the blind-tasting WSET Diploma exam.

We also speak about Wine & Spirit Women, which is an Irish networking organisation for women in the Drinks Business.

While we don’t always agree on every topic, we do agree that Master of Wine Tim Atkin is one of our favourite wine experts.

As usual, we have our weekly wine recommendations and we also have an impromptu quiz where you will get to us better!

We love hearing from you so if you have any questions or would like any particular topics covered please send us an e-mail at ourwinepodcast@gmail.com
