Hi, Im Marcelle Pick. Im the co-founder of the Women to Women Clinic in Yarmouth, Maine. In my practice, I often use a natural approach to help women feel and look better in menopause. When women hit menopause, many notice changes in their skin and my patients often ask if I have any secrets for bringing back that healthy, youthful glow. In fact, I do have a few tips to help your skin look its best in menopause and beyond.

First, remember that why your skin is on the outside, its a reflection of whats going on beneath the surface. Some of the best steps you can take to improve the quality and appearance of your skin will work from the inside-out.

So here are my tips. Tip No. 1, use the food you eat to improve the quality of your skin. Women who regularly eat processed food and sweets, artificial sweeteners, or who drink lots of coffee, often have skin issues including breakouts, blotchiness, and dullness. Poor diet fuels one of the biggest enemies of healthy-looking skin, which is inflammation.

You can actually combat inflammation by eating healthier. Choose foods that have lots of antioxidants like whole fruits, berries, and colourful vegetables, and please drink plenty of pure water or green tea. If you just increase your water intake itll improve your skin and I like to see women take in 8 to 10 glasses a day.

In our clinic, we usually recommend taking extra Omega 3s, too. These essential fatty acids are critical to the skin health, and its not all that easy to get them from food. Other important nutrients for good skin are calcium and magnesium, along with all the vitamins and minerals youll find in a daily multivitamin.

Your skin needs almost all of them regularly to be healthy. And the other thing to do is to take a probiotic which will help decrease inflammation by increasing good, healthy bacteria in your gut. So see if you can improve gradually your diet. It will have a huge impact with the way your skin looks.

Until next time, stay tuned and make sure you do something nice for yourself today. Thanks for listening.
