JIMBO MATHUS is likely known as the ringleader of the hyper-ragtime outfit Squirrel Nut Zippers. In his native Mississippi and throughout the South, however, Mathus is the prolific songwriter of born-in-the-bone Southern music, the torchbearer for Deep South mythology and culture. The late Memphis producer Jim Dickinson once called Jimbo Mathus “the singing voice of Huck Finn. Jimbo remains a rising-star powerhouse that feeds the soul. His latest band, The Tri-State Coalition, features solid talent cut from the same Delta cloth. Jimbo will be previewing tracks from his upcoming album release 'Dark Night of the Soul' due out in February on Fat Possum Records. http://jimbomathus.com CYNTHIA SAYER breaks all the banjo player stereotypes. Considered one of the top 4-string banjoists in the world today, Cynthia brings an edgy and soulful swing banjo style to a wide range of musical genres including hot jazz, tango, western swing, virtuoso classics and more. Cynthia has performed at Carnegie Hall, The White House, and for foreign royalty, and is an inductee into the American Banjo Museum Hall Of Fame. Her album Attractions, with legendary jazz guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli, was nominated Best CD of the Year by the Jazz Journalists Association.
