Recently knighted Sir Raymond Douglas Davies is still all about the work more than 50 years after The Kinks hit number one with "You Really Got Me" in 1964. At 72 he finds he can't stop working even if he wanted to. In our conversation about his new album Americana, recorded with The Jayhawks, he talks about British and American myths- inspired by Saturday afternoon trips to the cinema to watch Westerns as a child. He shares that the other British Invasion bands in the sixties were not always as welcomed as the lovable British moptops, The Beatles.
