When Charles saw a project failing, it was after he gave up that the impossible happened.
Personal Practice That Keeps Him Going on the Tough Days
“To see everybody I meet as myself… to understand that if I were in their shoes, in the totality of their situation, I would do exactly as that person does. So if I find myself in judgement, then that’s a signal to me that I have some work to do because I don’t understand this person and I substitute judgement for understanding.”
When he knows the work he is doing is making a difference:
Doing his work makes him feel alive which is more important to his mission than making a difference.

Trust the process.

Charles reflected that often when he’s worried about funding, then that worry is actually arising in place of a deeper issue that is preventing him from taking action.
