Dawnielle Miller is the founder of Casa Chirilagua, a community of people serving the poor Latino population in Alexandria, VA with afterschool programs, mentoring, and more. Casa itself grew out of Dawnielle’s passion for justice and her frustration with what she saw as the lack of church activity in addressing so many injustices in the world. From a course in International Development to living briefly in Ecuador, Dawnielle’s faith was challenged in ways it never had been before. Along the way, she wrestled with what faith should look like actively lived out in one’s career and continues to discover at deeper and deeper levels what her “identity” as a sister, daughter, friend, leader, and child of God.
