Eyewitness News anchor John Stehr caught up with Doug Jones (@actordougjones), who played the sea creature in Academy-Award winning “The Shape of Water.” He is going to be a celebrity appearing in the 500 Festival Parade and at IMS on Race Day.

The native Hoosier (Chatard ’78 – Ball State ’82) talks about his excitement coming to the parade when he was a kid and seeing “people on TV” like Joanne Worley, Ruth Buzzi, Jim Nabors, Florence Henderson and Kent McCord of Adam 12 fame and wanting to be in their shoes someday (2:50). He is very excited to be a part of the big events this year.

We talk about his years at Chatard and at Ball State, where he was the basketball Charlie Cardinal his junior and senior years (8:30), how he met his wife at BSU, and how he feels like his Hoosier sensibilities never left him, even though he moved to Hollywood more than 30 years ago (15:50).
