Wenn Christian und Peter darüber debattieren, ob die große romantische Komödie der 80er-Jahre eher „Auf der Jagd nach dem grünen Diamanten“ oder „Crocodile Dundee“ war, dann ist klar: Filmischer Sachverstand ist hier nicht zu erwarten, sondern nur jene enthusiastische Ahnungslosigkeit, die die beiden Profi-Dilettanten auch in der achten Folge von „Young in the 80s“ wieder an den Tag legen. Es geht um das Mammut-Thema „Kinofilme der 80er“, und weil sich das als zu großer Brocken erweist, teilen die Brüder es auf zwei Episoden auf. In der ersten geht es primär um die großen Komödien des Jahrzehnts sowie um Kinder- und Jugendfilme, von „Arielle die Meerjungfrau“ über „Wargames“ bis hin zu „Zurück in die Zukunft“ und „Beverly Hills Cop“.
