Acknowledge those that are easy to forget.

Have you ever thought to notice who’s invisible in your life? Perhaps it's your bus driver, mailman, service provider? The clerk behind the counter, the guy that fixes your car?

Recently we had a fellow come it to refit our bath tub. Numerous times during the course of the day, I offered him food and drink and we chatted here and there.

One thing he said really surprised and somewhat saddened me. He said, “I’m not used to people being so nice to me.”

Wow, how can that be?

Then I thought of another provider who had come to do some work on our house and he asked if he could use the washroom. I said, “Of course.” And then I added, with a chuckle, “I can’t imagine anyone would say no to that question.”

And then he told me that indeed people did say no. They told him to use the facilities at the gas station down the street.

Another wow from me - and not the good kind of wow either.

This week I invite you to notice those who are sometimes ‘invisible.’ Those who quietly do their work with little to no fanfare. People who you might normally just walk by, people who are easy to forget.

When you notice them, acknowledge them. A simple smile, nod, wave, thanks could be more than they normally get.

Acknowledging those that are easy to forget it’s just one more way to live Your Life, Unlimited!
