Creativity is the ability to let your beautiful internal hologram radiate out into the world, but it’s not easy. We’re taking the most innocent, precious part of ourselves and airing it out at the risk of opinions, judgment and rejection.

There’s power in taking radical responsibility for our experiences. There’s significance in flipping every “no, but” into a “yes, and” and constantly choosing to find a beautiful point to every motion we make, whether life is charmed or not.

All of this is antithetical to reactivity, a state in which many people live. Sometimes it might feel good, but all we’re getting are little spouts of dopamine, not the lasting wellspring of joy that comes from within.

In a world that’s often at war with creative women, how do we stand in our own power? How do we commit to all the goodness our creativity generates?

In this episode, we’re joined for a gorgeous conversation by playwright, actor, pursuant of wonder and president of the Katie Hendricks appreciation society, Kirsten Vangsness. We talk about the gift and responsibility of creativity and how she chooses to be, play and love.

Three Things You’ll Learn In This Episode

- From “no, but” to “yes, and”…How do we get in touch with that part of ourselves that welcomes all possibilities, realities, and discoveries?

- Take radical responsibility for your experience In a world where people often take their brokenness out on others, how can we contextualize negative things without exposing ourselves to them?
