Law enforcement is the topic on this episode of Cigars and Sea Stories. Bennett has spent time in a variety of law enforcement roles, many guarding nuclear facilities. There are a couple of unexpected stories from him during this ep. How stupid does a person have to be to scale a fence at a nuke site?! Listen to hear what happens next.
Mike spent time as an advisor working with law enforcement professionals in Afghanistan. The advisor team, he was a part of, was co-located with Afghan Uniformed Police officers near Kajaki and Sangin. Their mission was to assess, train, advise and assist the local police forces in governing the local population. Easier said than done. An 85% illiteracy rate and a serious language barrier make classroom time a particular struggle. By the end of deployment, they were all weapons qualified and slaying bodies.
Neither Bennett or Mike have spent time as a stateside police officer, deputy, fed or otherwise. Cigars and Sea Stories salutes our nation's cops. God bless ‘em. Those who wear the uniform have all of our profound respect and gratitude. Sincerely, thank you.
