It’s part two of the Torture Us trilogy, a series of episodes where we’ve hand-picked a pair of films for each host specifically designed to make them hate life as much as possible.

If Man of Steel hadn’t turned Matthew away from the DC Cinematic Universe already, the reports of physical and mental abuse on the set of Suicide Squad certainly would have done the trick. Nothing justifies the abuse writer/director David Ayer not only enabled but also participated in, but did he wind up with a watchable film? Let’s find out!

This episode went long, so we split it in two: yesterday’s discussion covers Zack Snyder’s magnum opus Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, and today’s conclusion includes our discussion of David Ayer’s Suicide Squad.
