ENG

In this episode we bring together theory and practice as it relates to the free movement of people. Christiana Bukalo, founder of statefree, shares her story of being stateless and the barriers she is breaking down by reframing what it means to untether our identities from the nation state and by building a network for 'statefree' people from around the world. Thomas Nail is a professor of philosophy at University of Denver and the Author of a series of books addressing a philosophy of movement. Thomas urges us as 'designers, who are designed' to learn from nature about the perpetual motion of all things and how nature builds adaptive systems. Listeners are provoked to tie theory to practice in considering post nation-state futures.

Audio production by Kyle Leve. Erica Dorn and Nandini Nair interviewed Christiana and Thomas. Sofía Bosch Gómez and Alex Polzin crafted the Spanish commentary.

The production of this podcast was carried out with the support of the School of Design at Carnegie Mellon University.
