Dr. Mildred Betancourt saw an opportunity to make a difference for the first responders in the city of Irving, Texas. What she created should be a model for all cities to follow. Listen to this important conversation.

ABOUT DR. MILDRED BETANCOURT
Dr. Mildred Betancourt developed the Public Safety Wellness Unit for the City of Irving. As Senior Manager Irving Public Safety Wellness Unit she oversees and manages the day-to-day operation of the unit to promote safety, wellness, and resilience for all fire and police personnel. She received her Ph.D. degree in Counseling Psychology in 2010 from the Interamerican University in San Juan, PR. Her previous job experiences include working for the Irving Family Advocacy Center for 11 years with victims of crime, where she performed as Clinical Director for 5 years. Dr. Betancourt also worked with the Correctional Department in Puerto Rico. Additionally, she collaborated as an adjunct professor with the Dallas County Community College District (DCCCD).
