In one survey, 47% of Americans said they would take Ozempic or similar drugs, which promise to help people lose 5-24% of their bodyweight — but what's the catch? After Johann Hari began taking Ozempic in 2023, he began investigating how Ozempic affects brain chemistry, the causes of obesity in the western world, and the risks of weight-loss drugs compared to those of obesity. Johann also shares some unexpected secondary consequences of the rise of this new class of weight-loss drugs.
