Vickie Dodd has been a body worker and sound healing therapist for more than 50 years. She collaborated with pioneer Don Campbell at the Institute of Music and Health Education in Boulder, Colorado, and now offers residential retreats at NaturBridge Campus in Olympic National Park and the Globe Institute in San Francisco. She is the author of Healing through Sound: Awakening Your Audible Body.

Here Vickie and Dawson discuss:

  • Vickie’s background
  • Listening to what the body wants to say
  • Trauma trapped in the body
  • When traumatized the body loses room inside for oneself
  • How to know when the body softens and lets go
  • When we were babies people held us and made soothing sounds
  • In previous generations people talked to their bodies and the earth
  • Ask: What do you need heart, belly, organs?
  • The body is 70% water, but in trauma liquid becomes stiff
  • The more fluid we are, the healthier our bodies become
  • Our body loves the sound of our voice
  • Humming a tune all through your body
  • Breaking up crystallization
  • Healing through Sound
