You’ve probably heard someone in your life say something like this (or perhaps had the thought yourself): “How is it that EVERYONE all the sudden has ADHD and autism?!”
Weellll that’s not exactly any more true than saying there’s “all the sudden” a bunch of trans people around, when really they’ve always been there— just more closeted since their reality was not as affirmed as it now is. (Of course we still have a very long way to go with even making the world SAFE for trans folks, let alone affirming.)

This is one of the topics I explored with recent podcast guest and auDHDer Megan Griffith, a neurodivergent life coach who has mastered the art of turning personal challenges into powerful motivators for self-discovery and growth. In addition to exploring how we can all better understand the basics of neurodivergence, we dived deep into themes of self-acceptance, resilience, and the power of embracing our true selves.

We also explored Megan’s experience as a TikTok “influencer” from its heights to its plummeting bottom, as she learned the hard way from some mistakes and navigated the rocky terrain of accountability and fielding a lot of hate on the platform.

Megan’s journey is a testament to the transformative power of facing challenges head-on, learning from missteps, and emerging stronger and more authentic. Her experience underscores the importance of owning your narrative, valuing self-sovereignty, and always striving for personal and professional growth.

Megan recently relaunched her coaching, podcast, and educational offerings as “the Neurocuriosity Club,” which speaks to her desire to foster a supportive environment for people exploring the spectrum of neurodiversity. Far from being just a rebranding effort, this club represents Megan's renewed commitment to inclusivity and empathy, offering a sanctuary for those on a journey toward understanding their neurodivergent identities.

Our conversation naturally veered towards what it truly means to "honor your spark." Together, we unraveled the intricacies of living an authentic life amidst societal expectations, the liberation in accepting our unique sparks, and the compelling power of stories in redefining personal narratives. Megan's deep dives into the vast ocean of neurodiversity, along with her emphasis on the critical role of community support, illuminate a path toward embracing and celebrating our unconventional sparks.

So, whether you’re on your own journey of neurodivergence, exploring the countless aspects of your identity, or simply in search of a spark of inspiration, Megan Griffith’s story and her vision for the Neuro Curiosity Club proffer invaluable lessons in the art of being unapologetically, beautifully you.
