I do not endorse any of these websites or their programs. I am citing them so people can do their own research and find resources.
After returning from a few weeks off I start off the series again with a toolbox on how to deal with difficult emotions and situations.
"Navigating the waves of grief and loss can be a daunting endeavor, one that has been close to me personally recently. I'm grateful to connect with you once again on Inspired Earth, where today we reflect on the emotional turbulence such experiences bring. We'll grapple with the notion of becoming an "Anxiety Jedi," as proposed in a Psychology Today article, and how confronting our fears can pave the path to genuine growth and inner peace.
Let's unravel the concept of acceptance without approval, a cornerstone of dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). Through this lens, we examine the art of observing our emotions without judgment, fostering the emotional resilience that can only come from a place of mindfulness and self-compassion. We will give a moment to talk about Buddhism and the similar elements of DBT which can be seamlessly integrated into daily life, empowering us to meet our emotional responses with grace and understanding.
Wrapping up the episode, we'll explore the skill of emotional regulation by "riding the wave" of our feelings. Imagine adopting the stance of a surfer, using the momentum of our emotions to stay true to our values and objectives. By discussing these practices and various resources available for deeper comprehension, we'll affirm our belief in our collective strength and capability. As we share these insights and tools for personal transformation, we reaffirm our commitment to a world that's not only safer but also brimming with empathy and connectedness."
