May is National Stroke Awareness Month.
In the U.S., more than 800,000 people suffer from strokes each year. Strokes are the leading cause of death in the country and cause more serious long-term disabilities than any other disease.
While older Americans have been more prone to stroke, it seems strokes are rising in young adults now.
KRLD's John Liddle talked with Dr. Clinton Wright, Vascular Neurologist and Associate Director, National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke about the signs and symptoms of stroke.
