Elizabeth Benedict is the founder and president of Elizabeth Home Decor & Design: a full service, Boston-based, interior design studio. Though rooted in a traditional aesthetic, Elizabeth looks at design from a practical vantage point focusing on making spaces cohesive and family-friendly. Her portfolio is a reflection of the varied tastes of her clients with common threads that include interconnected color palettes, multiple layers of texture and pattern, mixing of old and new pieces of furniture, and fabulous collections of art. Her ability to listen and understand unique requests has helped her to tailor each project to reflect individual tastes and personalities, and collaborative relationships with developers, architects and clients, have created a diverse portfolio of urban spaces, suburban sprawls and vacation destinations. She has been featured in local and national publications, on numerous design blogs, and has appeared on HGTV's "House Hunters Renovation" television series. After receiving a BA in Economics, she worked in New York and Hong Kong pursuing a career in the financial services industry. While living abroad, Benedict switched gears and began working at a local gallery. She joined the Hong Kong Textile Society and designed a line of table linens under the name of Essential Asia. Once back in the States (and in between having 4 children), she went back to school for Decorative Arts at The New England School of Art and Design in Boston. She established Elizabeth Home Decor & Design in 2005 and recently opened a brick and mortar studio in Chestnut Hill.
