Tony Gentilcore has done a few things in our industry.

He’s a prolific writer, traveled the globe to speak, and was one of the co-founders of Cressey Sports Performance and worked there as a coach from 2007-2015.

And his newest venture includes opening The Core Collective, where his goal is to bring trainers, coaches and physical therapists all under one roof to help better serve their clients and athletes.

In this show, Tony and I talk about the power of consistent training, how his philosophy has changed over the years, and why after years of reluctance, he finally decided to become a gym owner.

We had a few technical difficulties throughout the show, so apologies because the audio is a bit suspect. We did our best to clean it up and I hope you still enjoy the show!

Now my clients are more self-selecting…they know what they’re getting when they come to me. – Tony Gentilcore

This Week on the Physical Prep Podcast:

  • A brief intro and what’s new with Tony.
  • How he got started as a personal trainer – and living with THE Eric Cressey.
  • His first article at T-Nation, and the best advice he ever got about writing from TC Luoma.
  • Tony’s thoughts on how his training philosophy has evolved from when he started to today.
  • Along those same lines, how HIS training has changed over the years – and why.
  • Why he decided to go out on his own, and his initial thoughts and feelings during that time.
  • The Core Collective: What it is, and why these types of models could be the future of the fitness industry.
  • Last but not least the random/lightning round where we discuss his aversion to flying, hip-hop music, Star Wars and other random stuff!
