JAM has been keeping busy with school, but she’s also had a few pieces published in the Guardian: one about the legitimacy of comic books as literature in the wake of World Book Day, and the other about Marvel’s ongoing issues regarding diversity.
They’re both great reads and you should check them out, but today we are here to talk about comics!
Our book club discussion brings us back to Blacksad, which you might remember us discussing with the Junior Braves Of The Apocalypse team back in 2015. We were more than happy to revisit this amazing collection with a close friend and we think you’ll really appreciate the new episode!
And then, for the Weekly Review, Joe and Chase stop attempting to punish each other and pick comics they actually like!
XO Manowar #1 Written by Matt Kindt Art by Tomás Giorello Colors by Diego Rodriguez Letters by Dave Sharpe
Judge Dredd: Cry of the WerewolfArt by Steve Dillon Written by Alan Grant and John Wagner Letters by Tom Frame
And in the latest edition of the Canon of Comics, Joe and Chase honor the late Bernie Wrightson by discussing one of his classic horror shorts recommended by cartoonist Steve Lieber, the terrifying JENIFER.
We hope you enjoy the continuation of our newest reboot on the Reboot Podcast, long may it last.
