UNICEF's Executive Director Catherine Russell says the situation in Haiti is "catastrophic and grows worse by the day."

In the past few hours, Haiti's Prime Minister Ariel Henry announced his resignation and has handed power to a transitional council. It comes as five and a half million people, including three million children, need immediate humanitarian assistance.
