Today is May 10th, and welcome to The Daily Quote - a podcast designed to kickstart your day in a positive way. I'm your host, Andrew McGivern, and I'm happy you are here with me today.

Today also happens to be National Clean Your Room Day. A day where dust bunnies fear to tread and where under-the-bed monsters must find new homes. Yes, it's the perfect day to finally tackle that mountain of clothes chair or explore the depths of your closet. Why not turn it into a treasure hunt? You might even rediscover that lost sock's long-lost twin.

In the spirit of cleaning and clarity, today’s quote comes from the minimalism guru, Marie Kondo. She says,

“The question of what you want to own is actually the question of how you want to live your life.”

Marie Kondo isn’t just talking about decluttering your physical space. She’s inviting us to declutter our lives. What if today, while you sort through that stack of old magazines or finally decide which of the ten nearly identical black t-shirts you actually wear, you also think about the habits, commitments, and even old ideas you've been holding onto?

Which of these bring you joy or serve your purpose? On National Clean Your Room Day, let’s take a cue from Marie Kondo. Let’s look around and within, and ask ourselves about the things we choose to keep in our lives and our hearts. Does it spark joy? Does it help you live the life you want?

If not, maybe it's time to let it go. Thanks for joining me today, and I hope this episode inspires you to clean out not just your room, but also any clutter holding you back. Let’s make room for the new, for peace, and for joy. Have a fantastic day, and remember, every day holds the possibility of a miracle.
