"I'm gazing at faces staring blankly at me" or "A Becher's Brook is love, a hurdle at which greater men have fallen", or so many other opening lines to hit you right in the skull and take you on a musical ride through historical literature, and the thoughts of Mark Burgess, the frontman for the Manchester band "The Chameleons".

If you like Interpol, The Killers, The Cure, Echo & The Bunnymen, these guys are for you.

The Chameleons are a band that will release an album, then go into hiatus while the fans spend years going through the lyrics and images. I have been a fan since the late 80s, and after many impromptu conversations with Mark over the years, we finally had a real interview.

In this conversation we talked about the history of the band, the subtle and not subtle change in the sound, how he gets to the lyrics, and then on to the NEW MATERIAL. The EP "Where are You" is a 3 song EP coming out 24 May, and it is worth the years we have waited for new material. The music holds the same spirit of The Chameleons, and tackles the ideas of life 40 years into a journey.

The Chameleons are touring this summer in the US playing their masterpiece "Strange Times" album and other classics, and the new material to the fans.
