Tim Ross is a Professional Podcaster, Social Media Influencer, Preacher, Author, Businessman, and most recently, App Creator! His unorthodox approach to spirituality has guided him on a constant journey of evolution and progression in his life. After spending years preaching and teaching for some of the most prominent ministries in the world, he founded Embassy Church in Irving, Texas. He joins us today to tell the story behind the beautiful, God-centered relationship he has with his wife, Juliette and his personal journey to finding and creating love. Tim considers vulnerability his superpower and tells the story of the events of his childhood and how finding healing made him who he is today. He gets candid about why he would gladly accept a do-over of the first five years of his marriage if given the chance, lets us in on the details of turning from preaching to podcasting, and much more.

Key Points From This Episode:

  • How Tim made vulnerability his superpower and transformed his trauma into healing.
  • What happens when leaders choose vulnerability.
  • Why he would accept a do-over of the first five years of his marriage in a heartbeat.
  • Overcoming porn addiction during his marriage and shifting to a relationship based on truth.
  • His process of transitioning from preaching to podcasting.
  • When a divorce from the previous version of your relationship is necessary.
  • Why it is so important to go to therapy and do the work.
  • What it means to Tim to be in an aligned relationship with his wife.
  • Where the glue of relationships really resides: in the mundane.

Quotes:

“There’s too many men that try to use their wives as a crutch and try to make their freedom contingent on their wives’ involvement. That’s not how freedom from addiction happens. It is solely on the addict.” — Tim Ross [0:13:58]

“Not everybody is going to be meant for you when you speak your truth and you honor yourself from a place of true transparency and vulnerability.” — @LaurenZoeller [0:25:11]

“I believe the deepest relationship equity happens in the days that are the most mundane.” — Tim Ross [0:36:54]
