136: Conscious Dying, Conscious Living with Dale Borglum

I’m excited to bring you this episode with Ramdev Dale Borglum, the founder and executive director of the Living/Dying Project. He is a devotee and student of Maharajji Neem Karoli Baba, and he spent a lot of time in India with Ram Dass and Krishna Das. Ramdev Dale is also a client of mine, as I’ve helped with marketing for the Living Dying Project and the process to streamline their message to bring in more income as a nonprofit. He co-authored the Journey of Awakening: A Meditator’s Guidebook with Ram Dass, Daniel Goleman, and Dwarkanath Bonner, and has taught meditation since 1974.

Ramdev Dale lectures and gives workshops on meditation, healing, spiritual support for those with life-threatening illnesses, and caregiving as a spiritual practice. We discuss the conscious dying movement, how the fear of death holds us back, and tools that we can use when we are with a dying person to connect and support them and ourselves. We talk about Dale’s journey, background, and what spiritual practice is in today’s changing world.
