a truly wonderful snapshot of the bombay film studios in the 40s & 50s prepartition, during & post partition. when actors & writers received monthly salaries & were employees of the studio. the dazzle of the black & white era & the advent of playback recordings & singing as opposed to actors singing live on screen & ofcourse the history of radio & cinema in this country both as a means of entertainment or a means of propoganda. the amazon prime video india series `jubilee` deals with all of that & the love stories & dramas of the people who were either working in those studio to make ends meet or working to survive in the post partition refugee camps. i simply loved this interview i did with director vikramaditya motwane and his principal actors aparshakti khurana, aditi rao hydari, sidhant gupta & prosenjit(the legendary actor from bengal who is featuring on my show/podcast for the very first time). so much rich conversation about production design, styling, performances & the history of the time! listen in & do watch the show, all the best “The HrishiKay Sessions” are produced & presented by Hrishikesh Kannan popularly known as Hrishi K Thanks for listening.
