In this podcast episode, women’s health physiotherapist Caitlin Pender talks about how pregnant women can help to deepen their connection with their pelvic floors in preparation for birth. Having specialised training in pelvic floor physiotherapy, Caitlin explains the spectrum of tones of the pelvic floor between underactive and overactive and how deeping this understanding in your own body can help to optimise birth outcomes and improve overall health! Caitlin also details certain yoga poses that aim to stretch the pelvic floor and deep hip muscles. In this episode, she also describes how to perform perineal massage and gentle pelvic floor release.
