The George Municipality will cease their search and rescue operations during the course of the day, at the site where a building collapsed over a week ago. The disaster claimed the lives of 33 workers. Municipality officials say police have officially taken over the investigation into the cause of the collapse. Meanwhile, President Cyril Ramaphosa has promised the families of the victims that they will get the answers they seek into what caused the tragedy and death of their loved ones.
