Overgrowth of cyanobacteria, often mistaken for algae, in Lipman Park's pond has led to blocked outflows and rising water levels, threatening to spill onto nearby properties.

Efforts to manage the situation include the use of aerators to oxygenate the water and the introduction of barley straw pellets to inhibit the bacteria's growth.
