Knit Now

During the podcast, Kate chats about her day job at Knit Now magazine. She tells us how she went from a blogger and a knitter to an editor and working full time in the craft community. Along with that, we touch on magazine commissions, how designs are chosen for issues, how collaborations come together and what bringing an issue of a magazine entails.

Designs

Aside from her busy day job Kate also publishes her own designs and you can find them here on Ravelry. Some of my favourites in her collection are the Whitwell Tee above, her work with KnitPicks and the Findley Sweater which is the cover of this podcast. One of her designs that stands out for me at the moment is the Tiny Shoots tee, this caught my eye recently in the Eden Cottage Yarn group on Facebook as it is made with the their BFL sock which just makes me want to cast on right now!

The Big Woolly Weekend

On the podcast, you will hear Kate chat about the upcoming Big Woolly Weekend in collaboration with Bergere de France. I love the whole idea of the Big Woolly Weekend as Knit for Peace and the Jo Cox Foundation are also involved. Yes, you did hear Kate right when she mentions that wonderful prize for 2 to France to visit Bergere and to see how all the fantastic yarn is produced. To find out more about the Big Woolly Weekend you can find it here.

If you want to find out more about Kate herself you can find Kate on Ravelry, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and her website.
